Attorney J. Kail Romanoff joined Stackpole and French Law Offices in 2020. Kail assists clients primarily in the areas of real estate, land use, estate planning, and probate. Kail is based out of the firm’s Jeffersonville office.

Prior to joining the firm, Kail worked for the Vermont Natural Resources Council tracking land use, housing, and environmental legislation in the Vermont statehouse. Kail is a native Vermonter, raised in Jericho, with long-standing community ties to the area. He currently resides in Underhill with his wife and two daughters where he serves on the Underhill Planning Commission and enjoys hiking and backcountry skiing.

Kail graduated from the University of Vermont in 2004, receiving his BS in Geography with minors in Geology and Environmental Studies. He later received his Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School in 2019. During law school Kail interned with the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic in South Royalton and the Conservation Law Foundation in Montpelier assisting staff attorneys with legal research and drafting briefs.

Prior to law school, Kail worked as a land surveyor for over a decade, first in Long Island, NY, and Jackson Hole, WY, before returning to Vermont in 2008 where he worked for the Vermont Agency of Transportation, and private engineering firms in Chittenden County.

Kail is licensed to practice law in Vermont and is a member of the Vermont Bar Association.
