Attorney Anna Black joined Stackpole & French Law Offices in 2019. Anna assists clients primarily in the areas of real estate, land use, estate planning, corporate law, and general civil litigation. Anna lives in Waterbury, is based out of the firm’s Stowe office, and works with clients, brokers, and lenders, and attends closings all over Northern Vermont.

Prior to joining the firm, Anna worked for another Vermont law firm where she assisted clients in various real estate matters, including purchase, sale, and refinancing transactions, as well as land use, development, and conservation projects. Anna is a native Vermonter, raised in Hyde Park and Stowe, and a current resident of Waterbury, with strong and long-standing family and community ties to the area. Anna’s background, previous experience, and local knowledge make her a valuable addition to the firm.

Anna is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University, Farquar College of Arts and Sciences having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies with a Pre-law concentration and minors in both International Law and in Psychology in 2011. She later received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law in 2016. During Law School, Anna was heavily involved with the school’s Public Interest Law Society and also wrote for and edited The Florida Public Interest Journal, a publication of The Florida Bar.

Prior to returning home to Vermont, Anna worked for a Florida state agency where she represented many indigent clients, including parents facing allegations of child abuse, abandonment, and/or neglect in civil dependency court proceedings.

Anna is licensed to practice law in Vermont and Florida as well as the United States District Court for the District of Vermont. She is a member of the Vermont Bar Association and the Florida Bar. She is also an affiliate member of the Lamoille Area Board of Realtors, and the Northwest Vermont Realtor Association.

Anna is firmly dedicated to the ideals of service above self and active engagement through volunteering for the preservation and betterment of our community. She is an active member of the Stowe Rotary Club and currently serves as the chair of the Town of Waterbury Library Commission.

Anna is also an avid reader, an artist (mostly painting) and is heavily engaged in the local arts community. She co-owns two arts-centric businesses on Stowe Street in Waterbury with her husband, The Phoenix Gallery & Music Hall and Waterbury Studios.
