Attorney Sarah Haselton joined Stackpole & French in September of 2021. Sarah assists clients primarily in the areas of real estate, estate planning, corporate law, general civil litigation, and family law. Sarah is based predominantly out of her home located in Addison County, Vermont and will be assisting clients in our various office locations.

Prior to joining the firm, Sarah served as the General Counsel/Managing Attorney for the Vermont Office of Child Support (OCS). While working for OCS, Sarah served on various National Boards, was responsible for the oversight and general legal guidance of a team of approximately 110 employees, was a regular CLE presenter for the Vermont Bar Association, and was instrumental in the advocacy and passage of significant legislation impacting her agency.

Sarah is a sixth generation Vermonter and was raised in Bristol, where she has strong and long- standing family and community ties to the area.

Before joining OCS, Sarah worked in the Contracts Department of GE Healthcare (formerly known as IDX Systems Corporations), where she was responsible for the negotiation and execution of substantial corporate contracts.

Sarah graduated from Elmira College, Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, Criminal Justice and Sociology. She attended law school at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where she graduated in the top 25 % of her class, served as an Associate for the Buffalo Women’s Law Journal, and Publications Editor for the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review. She was also the recipient of the 2004 Robert J. Connelly Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.

Sarah is licensed to practice law in Vermont and is a member of the Vermont Bar Association.

Sarah resides in Bristol with her husband Tom, and their young twins.
